I hyperfocused on bedding and did so much research to find this duvet insert. I went with silk for its hypoallergenic natural fibers, and cooling features. I thought goose down and wool would be too warm and I don't like the idea of crinkling noises or shedding. There's down alternatives that are mostly polyester blends and I know for certain they're too toasty for me. You won't necessarily get the fluffy cloud look from silk, but my comfort means more to me than the aesthetics overall. I have linen bedding to maximize on cooling natural fibers. I am still waiting on my new mattress that should help with temp regulation as well. We live in NW TX so we get all weather and crazy temps from freezing to triple digits. We tend to keep the apt between 62-68F, I have gotten hot with this insert but just a quick airing out and its cool again. I'm considering purchasing the lighter comforter for hotter months, but I want to see how much of a difference my mattress might make first. The weight of the king insert is so incredibly delicious. Instantly eases my body and mind without feeling suffocated like a weighted blanket sometimes makes me feel. Overall, I love this duvet! I do get a little warm from time to time, but again I might just purchase the summer version if need be. I've only had it for a couple of weeks, and don't know how it'll perform in summer yet. I hope this is helpful for anyone considering to make their purchase!
